Au fond du bois is evolving, but our mission stays the same… to be with art so that you can too! Our new Artist in Residence program allows artists to immerse themselves within the inspiring surroundings of Tervuren, offering them a residence, studio & gallery. The program bridges conception, creation and commercialization in a seamless experience for both artist and art lover.
To launch this new program, we are delighted to welcome Koyuki Kazahaya (1987 Japan) and Rafael Rodriguez (1987 Spain) as the first resident artists.
Koyuki and Rafael will draw fresh inspiration from the warm and familiar landscapes of Tervuren that have inspired generations of artists before them. During their 3 weeks residency project, both artists will explore the evolving dialogue between the open landscapes and the architecture that inhabits them. Koyuki and Rafael will visit themes and places of local significance such as the Spaans Huis, ruins of the old castle, the Warrande and the Zevenster. Their desire is to work on diverse aspects of the same subject matter and to capture the evolution and impact of time. Space and Memory will be a common thread connecting the art, the artists and you.
